The Library offers a variety of public services that include but are not limited to:
The Library’s 3-D printer is available to the public to make three-dimensional objects in plastic using a design that is uploaded from a digital computer file. Printed objects cost $0.25 per gram. Further information on the type of objects permissible for printing or how to submit a print request can be found in Program Development Policy, Exhibit B: Creation Studio Equipment Policy and Usage Guidelines. Wireless Internet access is available throughout the library building to anyone who possesses the devices needed to access the Internet via an un-secured network. Staff members are unable to assist with personal computer related issues. Further information can be found in our Computer Use Policy.
Public Business Machines (copying, faxing, scanning, and study rooms)
A photocopier is available for public use.
For 8 1/2" x 11" copies:
- 10 cents for a black and white single copy
- 20 cents for a black and white double sided copy
- 25 cents for a color copy
For 11" x 17" copies:
- 50 cents per side of color copies
- 20 cents for black and white single
The Library provides a free local and long-distance fax service. International faxing is not permitted. Patrons can use the fax machine during any hours the Library is open. Instructions on how to use the fax machine are posted on the fax machine. Further information can be found in our Reference and Information Policy. Faxes can be received at 563-344-4174. Library patrons must be at the machine to receive their fax.
A public scanning station is also available for public use. The station has a flat bed scanner as well as a document scanner. Scans can be saved to USB flash drives, emailed, saved to Google Docs, or sent to your smart device.
The Library also provides study rooms on a first come first served basis, two of which accommodate groups. Further information can be found in our Meeting, Conference & Study Room Policy.
Notary services may be obtained at the Information Desk during regular hours of operation by appointment or on limited walk-in basis. Due to schedule limitations, notary service may not be available on demand, but can be scheduled in advance by contacting the Information Desk by phone at 563-344-4179 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org. There is no charge for notary services. It is recommended to contact the Information Desk to confirm the notary service is available. Library staff will not notarize I-9 forms, nor will verify eligibility for employment by filling out an I-9.
Federal tax forms (1040, 1040A, & 1040EZ) are available for pick up from the Library during tax season. Instruction booklets are available for reference only. State tax forms are available online.
