HealthPoints: health programs at the Bettendorf Public Library

It’s been a tough winter.  If you managed to get through this season without getting sick, you’re lucky!  But now that the worst of winter is over, let’s start thinking not just about recovering from or avoiding  being sick, but let’s get healthier than we were when winter began!

The Bettendorf Public Library wants to help.  In March, the Library is hosting a series of programs called HealthPoints, with support from UnityPoint and the Bettendorf Public Library Foundation.  You can learn how to maintain your health – not just physically but mentally, too!

In addition to these free programs, living a healthy life will continue after the HealthPoints programs are over, as UnityPoint has generously sponsored the purchase of many items that the Library will add to the collection about all areas of health, nutrition and fitness.  Come see the items on display, take them home and continue improving your health year-round.

HealthPoints: Hand Washing and Germs

Tuesday, March 13, 10:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

Learn about the importance of good hand washing to prevent illness and the spread of infection in a fun interactive presentation. Recommended for preschool age children.

HealthPoints: Hands Only CPR

Friday, March 16, 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM

When a person has a cardiac arrest, survival depends on immediately receiving CPR by someone nearby. CPR especially if performed immediately, can double or triple a cardiac arrest victim’s chance of survival. Learn how to do hands only CPR.  Registration is required.
